The 2009 BVAS Fund-Raising Gala

It was another terrific evening of laughter, friendship, giving and friendly competition!  Those whoGala Tables were able to gather at the Boise Depot on April 9th received much more than a tickets' worth of entertainment and fun from the evening.

More than 80 people joined together for the evening to celebrate Boise Valley Adventist School's value to our community, and to show their willingness to contribute financially to the school's success.  During the Silent Auction, attendees alternated between the delicious hors d'oeuvres buffet provided by Jered Couch & the Griddle catering staff, and watching out for anyone outbidding them on those 'special' items they wanted to win!

Paige at keyboardPerformances by the 2008 BVAS talent show winners were a terrific kick-off to the Live Auction!  Thank you to Carly, Paige and Jessie for sharing their beautiful voices with us.

As the Live Auction got underway, there was a lot of laughter and some lively competition for the wonderful items on offer...from the mouth-watering auctioned desserts to a whole school year's worth of instrument lessons to a summer day of water skiing...and almost everything else in between!  And throughout the evening's enjoyment, the focus was on contribution to Boise Valley Adventist School and the children attending there.

A few Gala facts:Carolyn and Linda

  • To make this fundraising effort a success, more than $14,000 in tangibles and services were donated for the silent and live auctions.
  • The highest table package was auctioned for $500 - the cycling table!  Thank you, Carolyn Devitt!
  • The highest auctioned item was $2,000 for Duane Dovich's donation of a week in a time-share in Scottsdale, Arizona!
  • And the most important fact for BVAS:  After expenses, over $17,000 was earned for our school...with $2,800 dedicated directly to the worthy student fund.

Big thanks to everyone who contributed time and effort to make the event possible, and also to all of those who were so generous in their financial support of BVAS.
